How to get to Sipi Falls from Mbale
The most convenient way to reach Sipi Falls from Mbale is by private car or hired taxi. From Mbale town centre, head north on the Mbale–Kapchorwa road. The first 30 km are well-paved tarmac; the final stretch into Sipi is murram but manageable in a standard saloon car during dry weather. A 4×4 is recommended if you are visiting in the rainy season.
Public transport is also available. Matatus and boda-bodas run from Mbale to Kapchorwa town; ask the driver to drop you at the Sipi trading centre turn-off, then hire a local boda-boda for the last few kilometres to the falls viewpoint.
